10 Simple Ways to Save

1.  Save on gas by going to http://www.gasbuddy.com to find out where you can get the best deal for gas in your city. You can also compare gas prices throughout your area or search another state if you are going to be traveling.


2. You can save up to $150 per year if you wash & rinse your clothes in cold water when doing the laundry.

3. Turn the temperature on your water heater down, but not past 120 degrees. You can save 6 to 10% of its energy cost by doing this.


4. Buy your bread from a bakery outlet instead. Recently I bought some fancy loafs of bread at a bakery outlet for half the cost of retail at the grocery store.

5. Cut back on meats. Instead of using a meat in every meal, try substituting 2 meals a week with beans, tofu, rice, tuna or eggs. All are full of protein and will fill you up while saving.


6.  Shop the ads. When you receive the weekly ads, plan your meals around them & shop accordingly.

7. Drink more water. May sound like a "duh" statement but 20 to 30% of your grocery bill might surprisingly be spent on beverages.


8. Use coupons--but only on items you need & only if it's cheaper than the generic brand.

9.  Join Netflix instead of making several trip to the movie store. Membership is only $8.99 a month. You get to pick the movie you want & as soon as you send it back, they send you a new one. 10. Make it yourself.  Instead of buying pre-packaged items, try making it yourself. There are lots of ways to save here because there are a lot of ways to make it yourself.
